Alexandria, the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”, On the included city sightseeing, see the Roman Catacombs. Heading underground we view the most massive known Roman burial site in Egypt. You then visit Pompey's pillar, a modest 25m tower, which is all that remains of an ancient column, from the ruined Temple of Serapis. The next visit will be the impressive Alexandria library Before we stop at a well-known seafood restaurant for lunch. After hotel check-in and time to freshen up, you’ll enjoy a stroll around the gardens of the royal Montazah Palace.

After breakfast, pass by the fort quality, perhaps most famous for being the site of the great Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. Drive along the Mediterranean coastal road for a stop in El Alamein, made famous by the decisive victory of the Allies during WWII. Visit the Military Museum that houses lots of original war vehicles, weapons, uniforms, and records. Enjoy the included lunch before heading back to Cairo.

Thousands of years of history brought to life during your full day of sightseeing. See the ancient Citadel, built to protect the city from the Crusaders. Marvel at the Alabaster Mosque’s ornate interior and the Sultan Hassan Mosque, one of the masterpieces of Mamluk architecture. Visit the Hanging Church of St.Mary in Old Cairo and then stroll in Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, a bustling souk in the city’s old district. Explore Tutankhamen’s priceless treasures at the Egyptian Museum, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of the Kings in 1922. Spend the evening as you wish.

Board your plane for a morning flight across the desert to Aswan. A visit out of town takes us to the mighty High Dam – a modern feat of engineering – creating Lake Nasser, the world’s largest artificial lake. This afternoon’s highlight is a leisurely boat trip to Agilika Island for a guided tour of the romantic Philae Temple – dedicated to the goddess Isis. Later, sail in a traditional felucca across the Nile to see the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener’s Island. A blood-red sunset is ordinary in Aswan, all the more breathtaking with the silhouette of dozens of feluccas set against it.

Kom Ombo – Edfu – Luxor. You will enjoy a guided tour of the Temple of Kom Ombo – dedicated to the crocodile-headed god – Sobek. Relax and admire the scenery as you pass by − little has changed in a thousand years, stop and Visit Egypt’s best-preserved cult temple at Edfu dedicated to the falcon god Horus before driving north to Luxor, home of the legendary Valley of the Kings and Temple of Karnak. Take flight over ancient Luxor with an optional Hot air balloon ride very early this morning before discovering the Valley of the Kings in the Theban Hills of the west of the Nile, where, 64 ancient Egyptian rulers lie buried in the Valley of the Kings including the burial chamber of Tutankhamen. Today’s touring also includes the spectacular Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Egypt’s only female ruler, rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces. Standing like guards along the road to the Valley of Kings, you’ll also marvel at the Colossi of Memnon, impressive statues of Amenhotep that tower 75 feet above the desert sands.
This afternoon after lunch, you will visit Karnak Temple, Egypt’s most beautiful ancient temple, wonder at the obelisks, substantial columned great Hypostyle Hall, and the sacred lake. During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most important place of worship, Proceed to Luxor temple via the 3-kilometer long avenue of Sphinxes, lost for centuries beneath the streets of the town till unearthed by Mariette 1860. The impressive temple of Luxor dedicated to the god Amun.
